Three new Cooks coalition ministers start work

The newest cabinet ministers in the Cook Islands' caretaker coalition government have been allocated portfolios.

Prime Minister Henry Puna remains in charge of the big ticket areas including tourism, education and marine resources, while his deputy, Mark Brown is in charge of finance, investment and telecommunications.

Newest minister, Rose Toki-Brown, takes the health, justice and agriculture portfolios, while Robert Tapaitau gets his dream role as Minister for Infrastructure.

Tapaitau will also be in charge of the environment portfolio, projects in the pa enua (outer islands), and transport.

One Cook Islands MP for the countries biggest electorate, George Maggie, takes on the corrective services portfolio along with culture, the business and trade board, and the house of Ariki.
