A business event in Auckland has been set up to help foster new Pacific business relationships with banks.
The Fostering Niu Relationships & Entrepreneurship event will be co-hosted by the Ministry for Pacific Peoples (MPP) and ASB Bank.
The significant gap in incomes and net worth of Pacific peoples compared to the rest of the population is often perceived as a barrier to entrepreneurship.
Business manager at MPP, Laura Keil Hall, says it will help inspire and grow Pacific entrepreneurship and contribute to Pacific success.
"It's about identifying and seizing opportunity to collaborate with Pacific business owners," she says. "ASB is involved heavily with the ASB Polyfest but they never really have anything to support Pacific businesses."
The event will be held on October 17 at the ASB Cube in Auckland.
